About the Book

WWI veteran Mac McCarty has found a new calling as a detective. His territory is Route 66.

Once a flying ace in the Great War, Mac now rides the Mother Road on his motorcycle searching for the missing and the dead. After chasing enemies through the skies of Europe, wandering the war-scarred continent on a Triumph Model H, and racing on the board track circuits back home, he settles into the life of a private investigator.

It’s 1937, and Mac quickly discovers the so-called Main Street of America isn’t always as wholesome as it sounds.

In the first installment of the Route 66 mystery series, Mac travels through Missouri searching for the son of a wealthy zinc mine owner. His investigation pulls him into a world of Kansas City gangsters, Ozark moonshine runners, and murder. With help from a captivating motel owner, Mac must ride hard, think fast, and finish the job before more bodies pile up.

About the Author

Micki Pierce grew up in Bordentown, New Jersey, where she spent much of her childhood reading mysteries set in the early twentieth century. Her writing focuses on period detective fiction and the realities of American life in the 1930s.

Exploring the Midwest on her husband’s Harley-Davidson deepened her fascination with Route 66 and the communities along the historic highway. That passion led to the creation of her motorcycle-riding private investigator and the stories that unfold along the Mother Road.

The Route 66 Detective in Missouri is her debut novel.
