Celebrity Cigar Series: Clint Eastwood

Cigars Worthy of a Legend

Welcome to our Celebrity Cigar Series, where we delve into the distinguished tastes of society’s most iconic figures. This month, we’re tipping our hats to the legendary Clint Eastwood, whose rugged charm and timeless charisma have left an indelible mark on the silver screen. Known for his roles in classic Westerns and gritty action films, Eastwood’s presence is as strong and enduring as the cigars he favors. Let’s explore the smokes that would complement the man behind the legend and the unforgettable lines that made him a cinematic icon.

The Man with No Name’s Favorite Smoke

Clint Eastwood’s characters are often seen with a cigar clenched between their teeth, adding to their tough, no-nonsense demeanor. While Eastwood himself is known for his appreciation of quality cigars, he has a preference for robust flavors and impeccable craftsmanship.

Montecristo No. 2

This torpedo-shaped cigar is a favorite among aficionados, known for its perfect draw and rich, complex flavor profile. It features notes of cedar, coffee, and a hint of spice, culminating in a creamy finish. The Montecristo No. 2 is the epitome of balance much like Eastwood’s performances. For this cigar, we suggest pairing it with ‘The Pops’ a tribute to Heather’s father, John, this was one of his favorite drinks and his spin on a Jack and Coke. The sweet and bubbly of the coke along with the spiciness of Gentleman’s Jack complement this cigar without running it over.

“Go ahead, make my day.” – Sudden Impact (1983)

The Good, the Bad, and the Bold

Partagas Serie D No. 4

Another cigar that would befit Eastwood’s iconic stature is the Partagas Serie D No. 4. This Robusto cigar is known for its full-bodied strength and intense flavors of earth, leather, and pepper, rounded out by a smooth, lingering finish. It’s a cigar that commands attention, much like Eastwood himself in any role he takes on. Complement the No. 4 with your favorite bourbon, we have many to choose from, but some of our favorites are Basil Hayden, Jefferson’s Ocean, and Weller.

“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do you, punk?” – Dirty Harry (1971)

A Fistful of Flavor

Arturo Fuente Don Carlos

Crafted with the utmost care and dedication, the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos is a testament to Eastwood’s legacy of excellence. This cigar offers a medium to full-bodied experience with rich notes of almonds, cedar, and sweet spices. It’s a harmonious blend that mirrors the balance of strength and subtlety seen in Eastwood’s work. Complement the Don Carlos with a smoked ‘Mayor’s Quorum’, our spin on the traditional old fashioned.

“I tried being reasonable, I didn’t like it.” – For a Few Dollars More (1965)

High Plains Smoker

Padron 1964 Anniversary Series

Celebrating milestones in cinema and cigar-making alike, the Padron 1964 Anniversary Series is a fitting tribute to Eastwood’s long-standing career. This cigar is renowned for its consistency and flavor complexity, featuring a symphony of cocoa, coffee, and earthy undertones. It’s a smoke that leaves a lasting impression, just like Eastwood’s legendary filmography. Pair this cigar with aged rum or Anejo tequila. We suggest the Real McCoy Prohibition or the Cava de Oro Extra Anejo. However, if you’re anything like Luke and don’t like rum or tequila, try a well-aged Scotch such as Balvenie or Macallan.

“Dying ain’t much of a living, boy.” – The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
