Few names in the cigar world carry as much prestige as Arturo Fuente. Founded in 1912 in West Tampa, Florida, by Arturo Fuente himself, the company has remained a family-run operation for over a century. Known for their meticulous craftsmanship and use of aged, high-quality tobaccos, Arturo Fuente cigars are among the most sought-after in the world. From the OpusX to the Hemingway series, each cigar is a reflection of dedication to tradition and quality.
The Añejo Reserva Story
Some cigars are carefully planned; others are born from necessity and become legends. The Añejo Reserva is one of those legends.
In the late 1990s, Hurricane George devastated the Dominican Republic, including the Fuente family’s prized Chateau de la Fuente tobacco farm, where they grew the coveted OpusX sun-grown wrapper leaf. Faced with a severe shortage, Carlos Fuente Jr. made a bold decision: instead of halting production, he opted to wrap the blend in a five-year-old Connecticut broadleaf wrapper aged in cognac barrels. This simple yet innovative choice gave birth to the Añejo Reserva, a cigar that delivers an entirely new experience while maintaining the essence of the OpusX blend.
