The story behind our Blue Note Distillery Juke Joint Uncut Barrel Pick is truly remarkable. After a devastating summer storm caused the collapse of a rickhouse storing a significant portion of Blue Note’s inventory, a few barrels miraculously survived the collapse. These barrels faced an even greater test as they were exposed to the elements for four months before the wreckage could be cleaned up. The scorching summer heat and relentless thunderstorms took their toll on the barrels, darkening the outside and forcing the bourbon deeper into the oak. As the weather cooled, the whiskey was forced back out of the worn oak. Only a select few barrels survived, and we’re proud to offer one of the few special-release survivor barrels available.
