E.P. Carrillo 2023 Short Story

A collaboration between two legends, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and Oscar Valladares, the 2023 Short Story showcases their shared passion for craftsmanship and innovation. Featuring Honduran Copan tobaccos and a Habano Seed Ecuador wrapper, this medium-bodied cigar delivers a rich and satisfying smoking experience. The Nicaraguan binder and a blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers come together to create a balanced and flavorful profile.

Luke’s Thoughts: “Great cigar! The burn was really clean, and the draw was fantastic. It’s a solid smoke from start to finish.”

E.P. Carrillo Sumatra (New Release)

The EP Carrillo Sumatra, the first in the Essence Series, is a testament to the artistry of cigar making. With an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, a double binder of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, this medium-bodied cigar is crafted with precision at the Casa Carrillo factory. Its flavor profile is a harmonious blend of almond, coffee, white pepper, and raw sugar, delivering a nuanced and delightful smoking experience.

Luke’s Thoughts: “The Sumatra blend is smooth and well-balanced, with just the right mix of flavors to keep things interesting. It’s got a complexity that’s easy to appreciate, whether you’re a seasoned cigar lover or just looking for a great everyday smoke.”

Peerless Distillery Small Batch Rye

Peerless Small Batch Rye delivers a well-rounded experience that’s all about balance. Its multidimensional profile blends oak and pepper, fruit and floral notes, and caramel and vanilla for a smooth and approachable sip. It’s a rye that doesn’t shy away from complexity but remains easy to enjoy.

Luke’s Thoughts: “This rye is mellow for the proof and makes a great summer sipper. It’s got a honey sweetness with a little sour tang and a bright bite. The finish is short but delicious, and it’s an easy whiskey to spend some time with. “

Peerless Distillery High Rye

Peerless High Rye Bourbon brings bold, rich flavors that make it a standout. The nose is full of seasoned oak, leather, and citrus, while hints of cedar and dark fruit add depth. On the palate, candied oak, toasted sugar, and charred orange lead the way, followed by a thick, smooth mouthfeel. The finish lingers with warm leather and tobacco, wrapping up with a spicy, back-loaded kick.

Luke’s Thoughts: “This one’s got a lot going on—in a good way. It’s rich, dense, and perfect for winding down in front of the fire. The flavors build slowly, and the finish is spicy without being harsh.”

Peerless Distillery Small Batch Bourbon

Peerless Small Batch Bourbon is a beautiful mix of fruit, floral, and oak notes. The nose brings citrus, cedar, and honeysuckle, while the palate opens with caramel and toasted oak before diving into a range of sweet and spicy flavors. The finish is an intriguing battle between citrusy sweetness and spicy oak, making this a bourbon that both beginners and seasoned drinkers can enjoy.

Luke’s Thoughts: “This bourbon is just plain enjoyable. It’s sweet, smooth, and drinks like it’s older than it is. The lower barrel entry proof really lets those delicate notes shine, especially the sweetness from the wood sugars.”
